July : Nigel on a BMW F1 at British GP
Nigel
just had a taste of what a modern F1 looks like during last FF1 meeting
at Silverstone. The 1992 world champion put on a display within the brand
new BMWteam's Pit Lane Park attraction. He loved it alot and here were
his first thoughts : "Absolutely awesome! The BMW drives in a similar
way to the F1 cars of my era, but the technology advances that have been
made since are phenomenal [...] I had a fantastic time. It's the first
time I have driven a Formula 1 car and not had any problems with it !"
It was Nigel's first F1 drive since he
drove a Jordan in London streets in 2004. Following Nigel's demo on
Friday, former GP winner Johnny Herbert and youngster Sebastian Vettel
took over in the BMW F1 car.

April : Nigel to race GT Ferrari at Silverstone
Nigel
Mansell is prepared for a spectacular comeback at Silverstone in the FIA
GT Championship race next 6th of May. He's gonna join Scuderia Ecosse,
driving a Ferrari 430 GT. Nigel already tested with the team at Knockhill
a few days ago and he's thrilled to be back at Silverstone after disappointed
GPM race last summer. This is gonna be Nigel's first GT appearance ever.
The deal came about after the team heard that Mansell was considering
driving a similar car in the American Le Mans Series this year. The team
have not decided which of their drivers will partner Mansell in the car
for the race. Others races include (injured) Tomas Enge, Jarek Janis,
Chris Niarchos and Andrew Kirkaldy. "This was a challenge I had to
accept," told Nigel. "The Ferrari 430 is fun to drive but it remains
to be seen how I will get on in a race situation as ex-F1 drivers tend
to race with a target on their backs ! I had a great time with the team
at Knockhill and it's going to be good to work with Pirelli again as we
have enjoyed many years working together in the past. I hope to see everyone
at Silverstone as I think we are in for a great weekend of racing",
he added. More news on FIA GT Championship official
website.
